The disappointment would be huge. I have been waiting for so long already because I had already pushed back the date by 6 months to October 2020. If I have to wait 6 more months that will be a 1 year wait which is huge. We just need visibility because some of us have jobs, housing and it takes a long time to prepare. I am willing to submit to all measures and protocols to ensure the safety of the Japanese people. Thank you for considering us, this situation is extremely stressful and difficult for us.

This means that I will have to use my student money to stay in my hotel alone and this will affect my moral and physical health. I know that I have no future in France which does not correspond to me.

Not knowing when I will be able to come to Japan has taken a toll on me in several ways. First, I would either have to book a flight very spontaneously, which would make it very expensive, or book a flight and change it several times, which also increases the cost. As a university student with no stable job, this has inconvenienced my finances significantly. Second, in order to relocate to Japan, I am giving up my residence and most of my belongings in Germany. This requires quite some planning ahead and at the moment I am quite literally sitting on a packed suitcase. Third, I cannot prepare when or how I will take exams at the language school and I cannot adjust my study method accordingly.

I have been passionate about Japanese Language and culture since childhood, I have tried to study for a year in 2019 but unfortunately had to go back home due to some serious issues after only 2 months. Even so I have never given up on my dream or felt discouraged. I kept studying by myself and passed JLPT N2 in December 2019. I would like to pursue a new career in Japan. That’s my dream.

Since 6 months ago, I left the company where I was working know that in March 2021 I would resign in order to fulfill my dream of studying in Japan, that is why I am currently unemployed, since I have everything prepared for this adventure. Another delay would mean taking money from my savings to Japan to cover my expenses. I am sure we will all be able to follow the directions we have been given to limit the spread of the virus. We are people looking to grow and learn, we are not tourists, please help us to get closer to your country.

It would mean I would have to push back my plans. I won’t have any of my possessions anymore so I will have nothing for more months to come. It also doesn’t allow me to fully know when to let my job know when I’m actually leaving.

I was studying Japanese language in high school and university, but I had not enough practice with native speakers and I also can’t really understand the culture of my favourite country without being in Japan.

I’ve been dreaming of temporarily living in Japan since 2011. I was close to moving once, but then the Tohoku earthquake happened. I’ve already waited ten years and was so excited to come for the spring term 2021, but not hearing anything about a possible lift of ban for future students is really exhausting. I will still wait and re-apply for my CoE over and over again if necessary, but I wish Japan would take consideration of people who want to get educated in Japan.

It hurts deeply. The delays are already killing me and it is so frustrating that the borders are still closed for language exchange students. There are already strict entry and quarantine regulations in place and yet you are not allowed to enter the country as a healthy person. It doesn’t matter whether you are vaccinated or not. I do not understand that.
