I was studying Japanese language in high school and university, but I had not enough practice with native speakers and I also can’t really understand the culture of my favourite country without being in Japan.

I’ve been dreaming of temporarily living in Japan since 2011. I was close to moving once, but then the Tohoku earthquake happened. I’ve already waited ten years and was so excited to come for the spring term 2021, but not hearing anything about a possible lift of ban for future students is really exhausting. I will still wait and re-apply for my CoE over and over again if necessary, but I wish Japan would take consideration of people who want to get educated in Japan.

It hurts deeply. The delays are already killing me and it is so frustrating that the borders are still closed for language exchange students. There are already strict entry and quarantine regulations in place and yet you are not allowed to enter the country as a healthy person. It doesn’t matter whether you are vaccinated or not. I do not understand that.

I will have to take classes from 1am-9am and suffer mentally and physically for an undecided amount of time

I will be devastated. I have been planning this for years and it will mean I have to wait for my life adventure to start even more.

I got to know the Japanese language and became interested in studying it. Then I started to learn more about Japanese culture and when I had the opportunity to be in Japan and interact with people, I felt very comfortable and made the decision to have the experience of living there at some point in my life. I would like to read and speak fluently in Japanese to be able to communicate better, have the opportunity to develop myself professionally and settle there. I wish I could fulfill my dream of living in Japan.

It’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for a six years now. The thought of going to Japan to learn Japanese has got me though one of worst parts of my life. I want learn the language that all the different types of music and movies that got inspired me to go for my dreams was in.

Even in my younger years, it has always been my dream to travel to a country, that is so rich in culture and history. The reason for studying Japanese in Japan, includes many aspects for me, as for example, as to know more about the country, people, traditions and culture and to understand all these aspects, I need and want to learn the language from native speakers.
