私は子供の頃から日本語と日本文化に情熱を持っており自分で勉強し続け、2019年12月にJLPT N2に合格しました。私は日本で新しいキャリアを追求したいと思っています。それが私の夢です。

I have been passionate about Japanese Language and culture since childhood. I kept studying by myself and passed JLPT N2 in December 2019. I would like to pursue a new career in Japan. That's my dream.

深く傷ついています。遅延ですでに死にそうになっているのに、言語交換学生のために国境がまだ閉鎖されていることがとても悔しいです。すでに厳しい入国・検疫規制が行われているのに、健康な人の入国が認められないのです。予防接種を受けていようがいまいが関係ありません。それが理解できません。

It hurts deeply. The delays are already killing me and it is so frustrating that the borders are still closed for language exchange students. There are already strict entry and quarantine regulations in place and yet you are not allowed to enter the country as a healthy person. It doesn't matter whether you are vaccinated or not. I do not understand that.

日本とスイスの期限に間に合わせるために、セルフスポンサーである私は、家と仕事を手放さなければなりませんでした。この学習プロジェクトは2年前から準備しており、すべての時間とエネルギーを費やしています。国境閉鎖が続き、私のCOEが有効でなくなれば、さらに多くのものを失う可能性があります。つまり、日本への留学という私の夢と計画、私の貯金、職業上のペナルティはもちろん、将来の年金やそれに関連するすべてのもの、私の国での今後の一般的な生活の道筋などです。

To meet the Japanese and Swiss deadlines, as a self sponsor I had to give up my home and my work and therefore a stable situation, built for almost 20 years that I will never be able to recover. I have been preparing this study project for 2 years and devoting all my time and energy to it. I could lose even more if the border closures would last and my COE would no longer be valid, namely my dream and study project in Japan, my savings without counting penalties in terms of my professional situation, my future foresight and all that is related including for the future course of my general life in my country.

Ca fait 2 ans que je prépare ce projet d'études et que j'y consacre tout mon temps et mon énérgie. Je pourrais perdre encore plus si la fermeture des frontières durerait et que mon COE ne serait plus valide à savoir, mon rêve et projet d'étude au Japon, mes économies sans compter des pénalités au niveau de ma situation professionnelle, de ma future prévoyance et de tout ce qui est lié y compris pour le déroulement futur de ma vie général dans mon pays.

若い頃から、文化や歴史が豊かな国に旅行することが夢でした。日本で日本語を勉強する理由は、国や人々、伝統や文化についてもっと知りたい、そのためにはネイティブスピーカーから言葉を学ぶ必要がある、というように様々な側面があります。もう一つの遅延は、私たちにとって非常に大きな問題を意味します。2つの異なる国で生活の整理をしなければならず、それは本当に疲れることです。

Even in my younger years, it has always been my dream to travel to a country, that is so rich in culture and history. The reason for studying Japanese in Japan, includes many aspects for me, as for example, as to know more about the country, people, traditions and culture and to understand all these aspects, I need and want to learn the language from native speakers. Another delay means so much trouble for all of us, because it means that our lives are going to be on hold again. We have to organize our lives in two different countries, which can be really exhausting.

I want to help and share my story

I created this website because I wanted to help and raise awareness about the situation of international students, but I can not do this alone, so I met with some of the language school associations to discuss what we can do to lobby the government on behalf of all international students.

The response from the school representatives was that the government highly weighs the impact on those students who are most directly affected and so we created a form to help capture that information to share with the government more easily.

I know many people reading this have already been pushing for answers from the government but we would like to ask that as many of you as possible share your story and pass this on to friends too, in order to supply the school representatives with as much helpful material as we can.

We ask if you can fill the form here as soon as you can, so we can use the information to push for students to enter Japan for the April term as soon as possible.
